• Service refers to the App, website, and all associated services collectively.
• Device refers to any smartphone, tablet, or other hardware used to access the Service.
• Local Data refers to all data stored exclusively on Your Device, including any entries, preferences, and settings You create within the App.
• Usage Data refers to anonymized, non-identifiable information collected automatically, such as device type, operating system version, and crash reports.
• User Content refers to photos, images, text inputs, or other material You submit through the Service.
• You refers to the individual accessing or using the Service.

Local Data Storage

GetMacro does not require account creation, registration, or sign-in of any kind. There are no user accounts, no cloud storage, and no data synchronization. Your Local Data remains stored exclusively on Your Device.

This means:

• We do not have access to Your Local Data
• We cannot view, retrieve, or recover any data on Your Device
• Your Local Data is never uploaded to or backed up on Our servers
• If You uninstall the App, all Local Data is permanently deleted
• Your Local Data may be preserved through Your own Device backups (e.g., iCloud backups managed by Apple)

Information We Do Not Collect

Because GetMacro operates without user accounts, We do not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Your physical address or billing details
• Any data You create or store within the App
• Your weight, height, age, or any biometric data
• Your geographic location
• Any unique personal identifier or user profile

Information We Process

While the majority of Your data never leaves Your Device, certain features require data transmission to function.

4.1 AI-Powered Food Analysis

GetMacro uses artificial intelligence to analyze food photos and estimate nutritional information. When You use this feature:

• Data collected: Food photos You capture with Your camera or select from Your photo library
• How it is collected: When You take a photo or select an image within the App and initiate a food scan
• Where it is sent: Photos are transmitted to Our servers, which forward them to third-party AI service providers for processing
• Purpose: To identify food items and estimate their nutritional content (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, etc.)
• What is not sent: No personal identifiers such as Your name, email, location, or device ID are attached to these photos
• Retention: Photos are processed in real-time and are not stored by Us after analysis is complete
• Consent: Before using this feature for the first time, the App will request Your explicit consent. You may decline, in which case no photos will be transmitted

4.2 Text-Based AI Processing

Certain features, such as food log corrections and exercise entry parsing, may send text inputs to Our servers for AI-powered processing. These text inputs contain only the information You provide (e.g., a food description or exercise entry) and are not linked to any personal identifier.

4.3 Usage Data

We may collect limited, anonymized usage analytics to maintain and improve the Service:

• Device type and operating system version
• App version
• Crash reports and error logs
• Aggregated feature usage patterns

This Usage Data is collected in aggregate form, is not tied to any individual, and cannot be used to identify You.

How We Use Processed Data

The limited data described above is used for the following purposes:

• Providing and operating the core features of the Service, including AI-powered food analysis
• Fixing bugs and improving stability
• Understanding aggregated usage patterns to improve the Service
• Complying with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes
• Protecting the rights, safety, or property of the Service and its users

User Content

When You submit content through the App (such as food photos or text descriptions), it may be transmitted to Our servers and third-party AI service providers solely for the purpose of delivering the requested feature. Regarding User Content:

• Content is transmitted for processing and is not retained by Us after the analysis is complete
• No personal identifiers are attached to or transmitted with User Content
• We may use anonymized or aggregated data to improve Our Service
• Content used for improvement purposes is stripped of all metadata and never linked to any individual
• We do not publicly display, share, or distribute any User Content

Third-Party Services

GetMacro uses the following categories of third-party service providers:

• AI Service Providers: To analyze food photos and text inputs for nutritional estimation. These providers only receive the content necessary to perform the analysis and do not receive any personal identifiers
• Subscription Management: To process and manage in-app subscriptions. Subscription transactions are handled by Apple through the App Store
• Analytics and Crash Reporting: To collect anonymized usage data and crash reports for improving the Service

All third-party providers receive only the minimum data required to perform their function. They do not receive Your Local Data, personal information, or any identifying details.

We confirm that all third-party service providers with whom We share data are required to provide the same or equal level of protection for Your data as described in this Privacy Policy. We select providers that maintain industry-standard security practices, including encrypted data transmission and appropriate data handling procedures.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer Your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

We may share limited, non-identifiable data in the following circumstances:

• AI Processing: Food photos and text inputs are shared with third-party AI service providers solely for nutritional analysis, as described in Section 04
• Service Providers: With vendors who process data on Our behalf to operate the Service, subject to confidentiality obligations
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
• Safety and Rights: To protect the rights, property, or safety of the Service, its users, or the public
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, where data may be transferred as permitted by applicable law
• Aggregated Data: We may share anonymized, aggregated statistics that cannot identify any individual

Data Retention

• Local Data: Stored on Your Device for as long as the App is installed. Permanently deleted when You uninstall the App
• User Content (Photos and Text): Transmitted to Our servers and third-party AI providers for real-time processing. Not retained by Us after analysis is complete. Retention by third-party providers is governed by their own policies
• Usage Data: Retained in anonymized, aggregated form for a reasonable period

Because We do not maintain user accounts, there is no account data to delete. Removing the App from Your Device permanently erases all Local Data.

Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to safeguard the limited data We process. Your Local Data benefits from the security protections built into Your Device and its operating system.

Data transmitted to Our servers and third-party providers is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. While We strive to protect Your information, We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights and Consent

Depending on Your jurisdiction, You may have certain rights regarding Your personal information, including the right to:

• Access information We hold about You
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of Your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Data portability where applicable

AI Processing Consent: The App requests Your explicit consent before sending any photos to third-party AI services for the first time. You may decline this consent, in which case the AI food analysis feature will not be available. This consent can be reset by reinstalling the App.

Given that GetMacro does not create user accounts or collect personal identifiers, We hold minimal to no personal data about individual users. Your Local Data is fully within Your control on Your Device. To exercise any applicable rights, please contact Us at support@getmacro.app.

International Data Transfers

When You use features that transmit data externally (such as AI food analysis), Your information may be processed on servers located outside Your country of residence. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place as required by applicable data protection laws.

Children's Privacy

GetMacro is not designed for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.

Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to external websites or services operated by third parties. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or policies of any third-party sites or services.
